A 1,200 kg car rolls down a hill with its brakes off and transmission in neutral. At one moment it is moving 5.0 m/s. A little later it is moving at 8.2 m/s. How much did its height change between the two times? Assume friction and air resistance have no effect on its motion. (Points : 1) 1.5 m 2.2 m 4.3 m 1.9 m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the gravitational force cause the car accelerate. acceleration is almost constant and it is 9.8 m/sec^2. 5m/s -8.2m/s=3.2 m/s the change in velocity is 3.2 m/s. acceleration=(change in velocity)/time. 9.8=3.2/time time=0,326 sec. The distance car took in 0.326 sec. is y=5x0.326+0.5x9.8x0,106=>y=2.15 meters

The tru answer is 2.2 (rounded 2.15 to 2.2)
