Is there a danger here for students unaware of the difference between opinion and fact?

hero (hero):

A fact is a statement based on proof. An opinion is a statement based on belief.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

explain how we should regard texts, if the authors include their opinion

explain how we should regard texts, if the authors include their opinion

hero (hero):

Ask yourself two questions: 1. Can this statement be proven? If so, it's probably a fact. 2. Is this statement disputable? If so, it's probably an opinion.

hero (hero):

If an author includes their opinion, then it is obviously an opinion, right? The thing is, you have to be able to tell the difference between opinion and fact.

hero (hero):

Re-read your lesson and try to understand the difference between the two.
