What is the purpose of the respiratory system?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's there to help us breathe. You know....to get oxygen INTO our bodies, and carbon dioxide OUT of our bodies. When we breathe in, we take oxygen into our lungs. That oxygen is given over to our blood. And our blood takes that oxygen throughout our entire body. When we breathe out, we release the carbon dioxide that our bodies don't need.

is there other purpose?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not that I can think of. SHOULD there be another purpose?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

supply of oxygen to each and every cell as far i know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@heena I agree. I didn't want to mention too much about that, because I thought it would lean more on the cardiovascular system.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I seriously look forward to this essay you're typing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

means there is only one purpose for maybe 15 marks

OpenStudy (anonymous):
