Consider this little bit of info I found (JUST by reading the lesson) it will help you write your first paragraph about "Why were we persecuted?"
" The German people, in Hitler's view, were of the "Aryan" race, "the highest species of humanity on earth." The lowest were the Jews whom he blamed for starting World War I and engineering Germany's defeat. He called for their removal from Germany."

So to begin your first paragraph you can put that in your own words and elaborate a little more about why the Jews were persecuted. Another point to consider is also "Anti-Semitism"
which means discrimination or "hatred for Jews."
