How do you find the standard position angle, when the reference angle is given?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the reference angle just measures the acute angle from the x axis you need to know what quadrant you are in to establish the rest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how would you tackle this question: "determine the angle in standard position when an angle of 40 degrees is reflected in the y axis

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a little rusty, but i think reflected means it moves to a mirror image across the y axis into Q2 Q2 = 180 - reference angle
