" could someone please help me with figuring out the supposed evolutionary importance of fungi?

GOOGLE IT. .-. its so easy

i ried it didnt work thats why im on here....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

impossible. you want the answer thats why. google it and read through it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did google it i just didnt understand what it meant by evolutionary importance like how can i tell if it was impirtant or not?

OpenStudy (opcode):

Fungi is really important. With Fungi dead plants and animals wouldn't give back there energy to the earth. While matter does break down over time with weather. Fungi speeds up the process. Like say after a Raccoon is killed on the road. Without fungi it could take months before that energy is returned to earth. Without fungi more disease would spread too, with animal dead corpses spreading types of disease that could potential kill us, when fungi breaks down the organism it neutralize the potential deadly viruses or bacteria. Also without fungi mass piles of dead carcasses would pile up.

^Dayumm lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it said 'evolutionary' importance like i think its asking how is it important in the evolution of it and what came from that look at the example above

OpenStudy (opcode):

How is it important to evolution? Fungi has been on earth for at lest ~570 million years ago. And it has stayed around. It's important because it speeds up the process of giving earth new "energy". Leading to let other species thrive. Now if you're asking how the fungi themselves evolved? Look at the pdf. As you can see as time passes, the fungi evolves. Becomes more complex.
