What is the slope of a line defined by the equation 3x + y = -4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. -4 B. -3 C. - 1/3 D. 3

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Rearrange the equation into slope-intercept form: \[y=mx+b\] where \(m\) is the slope and \(b\) is the \(y\) value of the y-intercept. Now read off the value of \(m\) and you have your answer.
