Distribute your 3 and move the numbers to one side and x's to the other side.

-8= -3x+15-x (you mulitplied 3 by -x and 5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-8= -3x+15-x isolate x -8-15= -3x-x if something goes to the other side it changes the sign -23=-4x
