OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

Please help me solve the following integral (click to see).

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

\[\int\limits_{}^{}\tan ^{4}xsecxdx\]

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

This is where I am stuck (i don't know if this is where I'm supposed to be). \[\int\limits_{}^{}\sec ^{5}x-2\sec ^{3}x+\sec(x)dx\]

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

sorry took so long ... got stuck on this one, had to go to wolfram yes you are on right track , from here you need to use reduction formulas for sec^m http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integral_of_secant_cubed#Higher_odd_powers_of_secant

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

also \[\int\limits_{}^{} \sec(x) dx = \ln| \sec(x) + \tan(x)|\]
