Describe how the War of 1812 caused the First Industrial Revolution in the United States?

Americans were dependent on foriegn trade before the war of 1812. The war cut off America from their main foreign suppliers so they had to make their own and industry boomed as Americans's weren't buying imported goods they were purchasing goods from American merchants. This caused American factories to expand to meet the demand for goods. :) hope this helped
