Which one is the independent/dependent variable?
Between the number of classes a student attends and the mark he obtains in the class
x - independent y - dependent
If the mark a student gets depends on how many classes he atttends, the the number of classes is the independent variable, and the mark he gets is the dependent variable.
generally marks depends on the attendance in class. so marks are dependent and attendance is independent.
Thanks, mathstudent, that's what I thought as well, just wanted to make sure :)
@abhrag321 Although I think you misread the question, your conclusion was still correct. The question is not what the marks in a class are dependent on attendance in that class. The question is the marks a student obtains is all his classes are dependent on the mumber of classes he attends in one semester. If a student takes too many classes in one semester, his grades will suffer because there is too much material to study, even if he is never absent from any single class session.
i personally do not prefer to junk the class. classes are arranged by administration or class teacher.
