the points (-3, 5) and (-3, 8) lie on a vertical line this vertical line cuts through x = -3 on the x axis
all vertical lines have an undefined slope this is because the "run" is 0 slope = rise/run slope = rise/0 ... can't do it, you can't divide by zero slope = undefined
That explanation deserves a medal.
