what is the Req?

First, start by redrawing the circuit so that the symbols are all horizontal or vertical on the page so you can see their relation to one another more easily. Then identify the resistors that are simply parallel or in series and replace them by their equivalent. Continue this process systematically until you have only one resistor Req.

what is the final answer? i'm really confused on redrawing the circuit.

Look on the far right the 5,20,12 ohm resistors are in parallel and this combo of three isin series with the 6 ohm resistor. Combine these and they 4 are in parallel with the 72 ohm. Combine these and you see that it is in series with parallel combo of 3 and 6 ohm. Combine these and you see they are in parallel with the 15 ohm. Combine these and you have a series circuit with the last 3 and 6 ohm resistors.
