If a parallelogram has an area of 115 square units and a base length of 12, what is the height of the parallelogram, to the nearest hundredth?

I came up with 9.58, is that right?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I'm getting 9.58333333333333, which rounds to 9.58 so you are correct

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Did you mean a parallelogram with area 115 and base 12? The area of a parallelogram is equal to the base times the height. 115=12(h). Simply divide 115 by 12 and you get the height, which is 9.5833333 (repeating) units. Rounded to the nearest hundredth, as you requested in your original question, this would be 9.58.

Thanks!
