Can someone solve this and show me the steps?

\[\frac{x}{x-3}=-\frac{2}{5}\] might be a good first step

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then \[5x=-2(x-3)\] a second step

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply out, get \[5x=-2x+6\] add \(2x\) to both sides, get \[7x=6\] and finally divide by 7 to get \[x=\frac{6}{7}\]

OMG thank you so much!! I'd been stuck on this for about 30 minutes now. You're a life saver!
