How do I tell which direction is the magnitude going in when calculating electric fields?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right hand rule.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you elaborate on that?

Watch this video, it will help you a lot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LK7hv4LX3ys

Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right hand rule is right so if you grab the feild, the fingers show the flow around the field and thumb show the electric charge direction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

problem with the problem...the magnitude has no direction. the right hand rule is used for magnetism though...
