Help! Identify any holes in the graph of the function f(x)=(x^3+8)/(x^2-4)?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

First factor out both numerator and denominator.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

The answer, if done right should be at x= 2 because if you factor it gives you (x+2)(x^2-4x+4)/(x-2)(x+2) The (x+2) would cancel leaving the (x-2). Now solve this for x which is x=2 Hope this helps! and a perfect trinomial can'r be factored any more than it already is.

Thanks :)
