Hmm this appears to be a little bit beyond my scope of understanding at the moment :c But just looking at the process, it appears to be the same method we would use for solving `Exact Equations` just with a few fancy equality's thrown in due to this being a complex function.

looks like sines and cosines were just particular cases ... In general function satisfying Laplace equation was called Harmonic functions http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonic_function I haven't advanced that far.
