the linear velocity of earths moon is about 2300 mph. If the average distance from the center of the earth to the center of the moon is 240,000 miles, how long does it take the moon to make one revolution abou t earth? assume the orbit is circular

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first find circunference length, which has radius of 240,000 miles using this formula: length=2Pi r with r= 240,000 later use this formula to find thime it takes for one orbit: time=length/2300
