most of atp is produced in cardiac muscle derived from the metabolism of fatty acids. Durning times of exertion , cardiac muscle cells can use lactic acid as an energy source. why would this adaptation be advantageous to cardiac function?

even if oxygen isnt available and time of aerobic respiration isnt there cardiac muscles can survive for some duration using anaerobic respiration
