What is the purpose of adding blue “tracking” dye to the DNA samples?

well without that u'll not be able to see in the gel.....

OpenStudy (opcode):

Without the dye you would be able to see anything things in the DNA as well as you would not see the changes happening. The dye makes it visible to understand.
