Find the volume of a rectangular prism with the following dimensions: Length = 5 mm Base = 7 mm Height = 3 mm

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Multiply the thrre dimensions together.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

V = LWH V = volume L = length W = width H = height

OpenStudy (zpupster):

V = Length x Base x Height remember your units iare cubed mm3

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Be careful with the term base. The area of a rectangular prism is the product of the area of the base and the height, V = AH. The area of the base is the product of the length and width, A = LW. That is why the volume of the prism is V = LWH. You are using the word base to mean the width, but that is not the conventional way of doing it.
