Simplify (b^2)^5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b^10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ (b^2)^5 = (bb)^5=(bb)(bb)(bb)(bb)(bb) = b^{10} \]They key here is \((b^n)^m=b^{n\cdot m}\)

@ingenuus: it is better to explain than to give an answer without any other information.

@ZeHanz I know but I think most of the kids here just want answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ZeHanz Well I think you are right. I shouldn't just put the answers. I think it will discourage their learning behaviors... thanks

OpenStudy (zehanz):

@ingenuus: Recently, someone just guessed the 4 options he had one by one. It took me a while to see that. I just responded every time: no that is not true, no that is also not true... It has to do with all these stupid multiple choice questions. People don't want to solve problems, they want to choose options :(
