multiply 14 and -5 to get -70 then list all the possible ways to multiply to -70 -70 = -1*70 -70 = -2*35 .... etc etc Which pair of factors would also add to 3?

good, so you can break up 3x into 10x - 7x to get 14x^2+10x-7x-5
now factor by grouping
