Determine if u = [2, 7, −1], v = [5, −3, 2] and w = [9, 11, 2] are coplanar

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Any three points or vectors determine a unique plane, so u v and w are coplanar

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

since u v and w are all in the same plane

thanks

i need to show my work...im using the u=sv+tw method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and i cant find the values of s and t

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

hmm not familiar with that method I think you just need to take the cross product of any two vectors to find the normal to the plane

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that should determine the equation of the plane

okay thnks
