In planning an experiment to investigate the effect of day/night length on flowering, it is best to use plants whose flowering pattern you know. Why? Okay I'm gonna try my best to explain this: When using a plant that you know it's flowering pattern, you know the normal pattern and if the experiment changed anything. When if you did not use a plant knowing it's flowering pattern you would be lost. You wouldn't know if you experiment would have effect your plant.
