HELP!! What is an equation of a parabola with the given vertex and focus? vertex: (–2, 5); focus: (–2, 6)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the vertex form is y = a(x - h)^2 + k (h, k) is the vertex of the parabola. the parabola is concave up since the focus is above the vertex you need to find a the focal length.... it is the distance from the vertex to the focus |dw:1362078265606:dw| in this question a = 1 so the equation is y = 1(x + 2)^2 + 5 just expand and simplify
