well its as shown below \[S_{n} = \frac{a( 1 - r^n)}{1 - r}\] n = number of terms, a = 1st term and r = common ratio.
so looking at your information substitute n =1, n= 2 n = 3 to see the sequence is 12, 24, 48, ... n = 10 a is when n = 1 so a = 6*2 = 12 r = 2 so substitute and then evaluate
