x is 7.5 and y is 14
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ps i sent you a message
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ik:P how did u get those answers?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
well x was half of the hypotenuse and you times x by the square root of 3.

to get y
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oohh ok.. wb Y?
OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh i mean X.. how do u get X? cuz that was for Y right?
OpenStudy (zpupster):
that answer is wrong becasue when you have a 90-45-45 triangle
the other sides are always equal.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh, oops, i thought is was a 30-60-90 triangle sorry
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so how do u do a 90 - 45 - 45 triangle?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ik that y would be 15 sqrt of 2.. but how do i find X?

OpenStudy (zpupster):
no
x and y will be the same
OpenStudy (anonymous):
really? ooh.. how do u find it?
OpenStudy (zpupster):
A= unknown angle, b =known angle 45 and c = 90
sinB =AC/AB=Opp/hyp
OpenStudy (zpupster):
AC = AB x sinB
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then i just substitute in?

OpenStudy (zpupster):
label the angles in the drawing first
OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm.. confusing stuff.. that i dont get..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh well on my reference sheet it says the hypotenuse is equal to x to the square root of 2 and the other two sides are x, so i guess both x and y =15
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thats what it says for a 45-45-90 triangle
OpenStudy (anonymous):
really?! thaaanksss:D
OpenStudy (anonymous):
your welcome, glad to help.

but how did u get 15?
OpenStudy (zpupster):
15 is indeed the answer, but did you see how it was calculated
OpenStudy (zpupster):
the sides you are looking for are AC or BC C being the right angle
the def of the sine of and angle is OPP/ hyp
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no..
OpenStudy (zpupster):
AB is the hyp or 15sprt2
