OpenStudy (mica):

3. A model rocket is launched vertically at v0 = 55 m/s. It accelerates at 2.2 m/s^2 until the engine stops at 150 m above ground. (a) What is the maximum height that is attained by the rocket? (b) How long is the rocket in the air?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

once the engine stops, the rocket will continue upwards, but it will begin to slow as its only influence is now the acceleration of gravity (9.8m/s2) use the equations of motion to find the vf of the powered phase, which becomes the v0 of the freefall phase
