how do you make 29/14 into a mixed number? please show your work so I will know how to do it:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To make 29/14 a mixed number, you see how many times 14 goes in 29 and what is left over. I know that 29/14 is the same as saying 2 and 1/14. This is because 14 goes in to 29, two whole times, but we are leave with 1 as a numerator and 14 as a denominator. Thus: \[\frac{ 29 }{ 14 }=2\frac{ 1 }{ 14 }\]
