Write a 5-sentence summary about the information learned in this activity. Be sure to include the terms: water, solvent, solution, solute, solubility
DEFINE following terms as doing so will aid in understanding and completing the following activity: • Element-- • Molecule-- • Solubility-- • Solute-- • Solvent-- • Solution-- • electrical charges--
Element - material that can not be broken down or changed by chemical reaction. Molecule - Group of atoms bonded together Solubility - I'm guessing here, but ... the measure of how soluble a substance is? .. meaning how well can it dissolve in a solvent Solute - The material being dissolved in a solvent Solvent - The liquid in which a substance is dissolved Solution - Solute + solvent Electrical charge - I'm not sure how to explain exactly, but ... An atom has either a neutral positive or negative charge and this charge depends on the # of electrons in the atom. For example: A neutral atom X has 5 electrons and 5 protons. However if that atom loses 1 electron it will have a +1 charge (because it lost an electron which has negative charge) or if it were to gain an electron then it would have a -1 charge.
The sites meant for people to have easy access to tutor help.... I just gave some basic definitions that I know off the top of my head.
