Can a angle ever have the same measure as its complement? Explain.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if you had two angles x and y, and they were complementary, then x+y = 90

OpenStudy (raden):

yes, like the measure 45 degrees its complement 45 deg too

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if they were the same angle, then x = y or y = x

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so you would have x+y = 90 x + x = 90 ... plug in y = x solve that for x to get your angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

O.0 wow... Too much hold on!! :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok i got it!

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so what do you get when you solve x+x = 90
