Since both lines p and q are parallel and intersect the same line, they will have equivalent angles. Since the given angle is 83 degrees, the opposite angle, A will equal 180-83=97 degrees. Because of the two lines' parallel nature, the angle A will equal angle D, which is 97 degrees
