Simplify −(6p + 12)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

−(6p + 12) is the same as −1(6p + 12)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you can distribute the -1 through to the terms inside the parenthesis so that means −1(6p + 12) turns into -1*6p + (-1)*12 and that simplifies to -6p - 12

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so −(6p + 12) = -6p - 12
