What occurred after the Eighteenth Amendment passed? The government controlled the manufacture and distribution of alcohol. Bootlegging became legal. People could legally buy alcohol in Canada and take it home to drink. Organized crime took over the distribution of alcohol.
no they could drink it and make it they couldnt sell it or transporte it
so its c?
Hi there! I think what beastmode was trying to say was that because people could not legally drink or sell alcohol, they were forced to turn to illegal matters. Based on this idea, which answer makes the most sense to you?
People could legally buy alcohol in Canada and take it home to drink. ?
That's a good guess; but it kind of cancels out the whole "illegal matters" thing. Because they could not deal with alcohol legally, they had to deal with it illegally. *Hint* they had to bootleg, which was ILLEGAL. It caused a huge wave of crime in America.
ok so bootlegging became illegal or was it already illegal?so Organized crime took over the distribution of alcohol. ?
Bootlegging was already illegal. When the 28th Amendment passed, it became a huge and highly organized crime, and it took over the distribution of alcohol. Bootleggers became very, very rich, but they got their money dishonestly. It looks like you got your answer! :D Great job! :)
sorry, 18th amendment
thank for the help!
