Start with 40 candies on the reactant side of the paper and zero candies on the product side. Each round, you will be exchanging candies between R and P. For each round, half of the candies that were on the reactant (R) side of the paper from the last round should be moved to the product side. One-fourth of the candies that were on the product (P) side of the paper from the last round should be moved to the reactant side. (If you end up with a decimal for the number to exchange, round up.) At the end of each round, count the number of candies on each side of the paper and keep track of the numbers in a data table.

ive tried it a couple different ways... one way was 40 - 0 25-15 19-21 17-23 16-24 16-24 and 16-24 would just keep repeating....

ssoo make a table and do it step by step R P Round 1 40/2 = 20 lost 20 20 lost none cuz had none Round 2 20/2=10 lost 10 20(3/4) = 15 lost 5 Round 3 (10+5)/2=7.5 lost 7.5 (15+10)(3/4)= 18.75 lost 6.25 Round 4 (7.5+6.25)/2=6.875 lost 6.875 (18.75+7.5)(3/4)=19.6875 lost 6.56 etc

right but would it stay at 14 26??? someone said it would be 13 27.... im so confused
