How do you use sin to find the hypotenuse if you only know the opposite side?
I also know the angle equals 30 degrees
isn't the side opposite sin(30) = 1 on a 30-60-90 trangle?
I'm not sure... This is what I'm looking at. Can you help me solve it?
I need to know the length of AC
I'm not 100%, but I'd be suspicious that there are some pythagorean identities that might be able to help us. Or maybe if we set it up like an equation where we had to solve for x. We know that sin is opposite over hyp, and we have opposite. so if you did something like sin(30) = 7/x would that help?
maybe you could cross multiply and get x = 7/sin(30)
my bad. opposite(sin30)
I did 7/sin(30) and got 14 which is one of the answers! Thank you!
thank YOU! I obviously needed a refresher. anyway, you're welcome.
