Write a polynomial function of minimum degree with real coefficients whose zeros include those listed. Write the polynomial in standard form. 5, -3, and -1 + 2i

@wio can you help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The trick here is that complex roots always come in pairs. You have one and it's conjugate. So you have a total of 4 roots there. Now the polynomial is (x-a1)(x-a2)...(x-an) where a1...an are your roots

@Xavier um so it will be (x-(-1+2i))(x-(-1-2i)) so what some out from it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't forget the 5 and -3. Use distribution like usual. Answer will turn out to be a function that does not involve i

what do i get from (x-(-1+2i))(x-(-1-2i)) ?? @Xavier
