BTW, after giving it some thought, I think the answer to 24.jpg is D (2.8)

Clearly x is more than half the length of 2, so the answer can't be 1
Clearly the answer cannot be longer than 4, so the answer can't be 8.
And I estimate that x is less then 3/4 of 4, so the anser is probably not 3.5.

That leaves 2.8, and that's what I would answer.

3 would be 3/4 of the way across. 3.5 would be 7/8 of the way across.
2.8 is slightly less than 3.4 of the way across.

I would say 2.8, but it's your test so it's your call.
