MEDAL WILL BE AWARDED!!!!!!! Sam is a senior in high school. Sam despises the gym and dislikes any kind of physical exercise. Recently Sam had some bad news and he cannot seem to shake this unhappiness. Sam finds comfort in chocolate cake and eats it just about every day. Last week Sam also found that pizza tasted really great when a sad day was beginning. Sam can eat two pizzas and one chocolate cake at least two times a day! After Sam eats, the feelings of sadness and guilt linger in the air, so Sam eats again. This cycle has left Sam gaining more and more weight.
According to what you have learned, Sam most likely suffers from which disorder? binge-eating disorder anorexia nervosa bulimia nervosa depression
"Binge Eating Disorder" is where someone eats large amounts of food quickly and frequently. The biggest clue is where someone will eat wayyy more than a normal person would eat, in a given amount of time. The paragraph tells us that Sam can eat 2 pizzas and a chocolate cake, TWICE a day. That's a LOT of pizza and cake. It's a psychological disorder. And like many psychological disorders, it traps the person in a vicious cycle. Sam eats huge amounts of food. And then he feels GUILTY about having eaten so much food. So, in order to relieve his guilt, he eats even MORE food. And the cycle goes on. You see?
binge eating . he is eating large amounts of food due to emotional stress and cannot stop unless his emotions are completely erased. the more problems he thinks about the more food he eats and when he notices he has eaten way more than he should he gets stressed causing him to eat more. therefore his eating disorder will cause obesity since he doesnt work of the calories or fat he eats.
