Mathematics 6 Online
OpenStudy (vortish):

find the product (3c+6)(3c-6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the FOIL method First Inside Outside Last

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry First Outside Inside Last

OpenStudy (vortish):

that doest make sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First multiply 3c x 3c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then Outside 3c x -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then Inside 6 x 3c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then Last 6 x -6

OpenStudy (vortish):

so would the answer be 9c2-36

OpenStudy (vortish):

9c^2-36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct. But do you understand the concept of the FOIL method

OpenStudy (vortish):

sort of

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what aren't you understanding I'd be happy to explain

OpenStudy (vortish):

all of it i just have a hard time retained this stuff

OpenStudy (vortish):

i have a quiz to finish and a finial test tomorrow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well when i say First I just mean the first parts of each equation get multiplied together. so 3c is the first part of the first equation and 3c is also the first part of the second equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well then ill just let you get back to it then
