According to Freud's psychoanalytic theory, rationality as well as logical thinking and reasoning are controlled by our ______. pleasure principle superego id ego preconscious

OpenStudy (anonymous):

id- what we want to do ego- what we could do superego- what we should do this is how i think of those, so would it be superego, since it's rationality and logical thinking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I read that the superego is more centered around our moral decisions. I mean I agree with your label: it's all about what we SHOULD do, according to what we believe is right, or wrong. But see there, the superego is more about what's right or wrong, and not so much logical thinking. You know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm actually leaning on the ego, here. The ego is all about being realistic. As you labeled: What we COULD do. That seems to me more tied in with logic and reasoning.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok, yeahh would that make go more of the logical thinking then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok =)
