Describe the graphs of the functions f(x) = 2x - 3 and g(x) = -2x - 3. Compare and contrast the domain and range of f(x) and g(x).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I graphed both and so far I wrote down These are both rational functions but the first one is up and the second is down. But I need to know how to get the domain and range. Thanks!

OpenStudy (zehanz):

Wouldn't call them rational functions, but linear functions... Rational functions are e.g. f(x)=(x+2)/(x²-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But the graphs look rational they're like the letter L

OpenStudy (zehanz):

Here is how they look if I draw them: BTW, what does the letter "L" have to do with it?

OpenStudy (zehanz):

To find the domain, you must ask yourself: what numbers can I use to put into these functions? ANd: are there any restrictions?
