@kristina95 A radius drawn to a tangent at the point of tangency is perpendicular to it. That forms a right angle. Use the Pythagorean Theorem: 5^2 + x^2 = 13^2 If you know about Pythagorean triples, you can get the answer by inspection. If not, crank out x using the theorem.
