What side is adjacent to angle R in △RFE? A. RE B. RF C. EF I got B as my answer. Is that correct?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

OpenStudy (mertsj):

RF and RE are both adjacent angle R or are we talking about a right triangle and one of them is the hypotenuse?

Directrix (directrix):

I agree with @Mertsj Is something missing from the diagram? Check to be sure the options are correctly stated.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YEP MY OPTIONS ARE CORRECTED

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Is the triangle a right triangle?

Directrix (directrix):

A. RE B. RF are both adjacent to <R. Check the question and the diagram to see if they are both posted correctly.

Directrix (directrix):

Is one of the angles in the given triangle of your problem a right angle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so my answer would be A?

Directrix (directrix):

No. Unless you post the original diagram or give information about the triangle RFE, there's no way to help you. We think triangle RFE is right because you have been posting questions about right triangles but you did not say that triangle RFE is a right triangle. If it is a right triangle, we have to know the location of the right angle or some other information about the triangle. As it now stands, you have two correct answers shown among the options.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol so C is my answer

OpenStudy (mertsj):

no. That is the one choice that is NOT a possibility

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well if its not C and its not A then its B like I said before right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Directrix

Directrix (directrix):

A and B are both correct options for the problem you posted.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

If you look at the picture I drew, you will see that there are two possibilities. The two possibilities are A or B. If one of them is the hypotenuse, then it is eliminated. That is why we need to know if it is a right triangle or not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have only 1 answer to choose from

Directrix (directrix):

Look at the beginning of the problems in your text and post what the given information is about this set of right triangle problems.
