A 2.0-kg object sitting on a frictionless surface is attached to a horizontal spring on one side and a massless string on the opposite side. The string constant is 8.0N/m. The string passes over a frictionless pulley and is fastened to a 1.0kg block. At t=0 the 1.0kg block is given a downward velocity of 1.5 m/s. Use energy methods to determine the distance that the 1.00kg block falls before it comes to rest.
