You don't have to subtract 180 from anything. It is given that the angle = 2x + 38. And since it is a right angle, the angle must be 90. To find the value of x you make the equation: 2x + 38 = 90 You have to get the variable(x) by itself. Subtract 38 from each side. 2x = 52 Divide 2 from each side. x = 26 The answer is A.
