Why can't I "verify my email"?
Doesn't matter what email I use to create an account, I never get a "verification link" sent to me! What's going on?
I'm in a state of confusion.
So am I.
click the word 'here'
Where?
on that mail
I don't think you understand the problem. Read my first post.
because your username is
Because my username is what?
*maybe too long *invalid idk
This particular username is about the 5th or 6th account I've made here. I'm "locked out" of all of the others because this site only lets you on 3 times without verification. 4 of my other inaccessible accounts use normal usernames, but I got fed up with wasting my time coming up with meaningful names just to get locked out. IOW, my problem has nothing to do with the length of my username.
so u say that u cant verify ur email, right? maybe the emails ur using are not valid on OS. have u tried using a @yahoo, @gmail, @hotmail, @rocketmail.com, @ymail?
*did not mean to tag yahoo or hotmail lol
Yes, I've tried aol and verizon. I can send and receive emails to and from one email account to another, I JUST CAN'T GET THEM FROM HERE!
exactly you tried AOL and VERIZON, but you have not tried yahoo, gmail, rocketmail, ymail, or hotmail. I would suggest that you might try any of these email services. It might be this since those are custom emails.
I think it would be absurd for a public service site such as this one to have a validation mechanism which required people to use various email systems in order to get verified. I also fail to understand what you mean by "custom emails" - we aren't talking about magic, trickery or sophistication here; signing up for a website and having the website send a verification email is as common as dirt.
You might want to contact the OpenStudy team, Email them contact@Openstudy.com for help
I am having the same problems, I got the email but it wont verify
Yes, I saw that and responded to your thread. I have a question for you which I've wondered makes any difference: Are you a student enrolled in any of the associated classes here? Or did you come across this site by accident and wandered in off the street to register as I did? I'm just wondering if there's any pre-registration or co-registration flags or cookies or whatever that are set somehow.
You would think we would have something like that... right? :) It's been discussed but who knows what the admins want to do....
Maybe your electronic mail account does not register links that are being sent to you. Make sure you accept all forms of graphics and text. Another possibility could involve your mail filter. In this respect, you need to alter your filter settings to accept electronic mail, such as verification messages.
