If 7x + 3y = 10 then what is the value of 3x?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well start by making x the subject subtract 3y from both sides of the equation. next divide both sides by 7 this will give the value of x to find 3x.... multiply both sides by 3

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

yes it is sufficient information so what happens when you subtract 3y from both sides of the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i didnt get d ans

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

we haven't gotten to the answer... just working through the process to get the answer... so what happens to the equation when you subtract 3y from both sides of the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[7x+3y=10\]\[x=\frac{ 10-3y }{7 }\] for (3x) multiply both the sides by 3\[\frac{ 3(10-3y) }{ 7}\]
